Jose de Francisco LopezDesign Director, Human Factors Engineering
Jose de Francisco is a Design Director at Nokia’s Applications & Analytics Group. His 15+ year experience in the high tech industry encompasses projects in 20+ countries and a successful track record with interdisciplinary leadership responsibilities in strategy, consulting, product management, research & development, marketing, strategic partnerships, operations and project management. He has worked with Bell Labs on next generation platforms for mobile networks and holds several active patents. Jose coached at the company’s former EBC (Entrepreneurial Boot Camp) where he was first involved as a contestant with two finalist projects. Jose is a Member of the Advisory Council at MIT’s Institute for Data Systems and Society (IDSS) and the recipient of an MBA in International Marketing and Finance from Chicago’s DePaul University as a Honeywell Europe Be Brilliant Scholar. He also holds a degree in Industrial Design from Barcelona’s Massana Art & Design Center and postgraduate degrees in Human Factors Engineering from BarcelonaTech and Business from University College Dublin (UCD) in Ireland. Avid communicator, speaks English, Spanish and Catalan languages and has been featured by media outlets such as CNN’s Future Watch. Jose has published papers, essays and articles as well as given numerous talks and blogged on design, technology and, above all, serial innovation practices. He is based in Naperville, Illinois, has ran several marathons and now enjoys canicross with his siberian husky.
