Emmy® Award winning Executive, Speaker, Innovator, Entrepreneur and Futurist - Shawn is the Vice President of Experience Design for NBCUniversal. Responsible for the Experience Design and Creative Vision, he champions Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design strategies for the network’s top products, platforms, programs, channels, services and experiences. Combining an award-winning portfolio with strategy, technology and business acumen - Shawn is a proven global leader who builds dynamic design solutions that scale. He orchestrates his teams - working in concert to deliver engaging journeys that create memorable and lasting consumer relationships for evolving ecosystems. Prior to NBC, Shawn served as Senior UX Lead & Creative Director for Microsoft, championing a unified Consumer Brand Experience. Working across the entire Microsoft ecosystem of products & services – he led business groups/partners towards a unified global brand vision and customer experience design. Over the past two decades, Shawn has remained at the forefront of innovation – building, leading and cultivating teams globally. As an entrepreneur and founder of several successful independent design agencies, Shawn has worked with a broad range of clients including, Microsoft, Nike, Unilever, Sony, Budweiser, Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Coca-Cola, Nissan, and Walt Disney Imagineering Group. Blurring the lines between impossible and possible, Shawn thrives at the intersection of business, strategy, design, technology and imagination of the human spirit. He attended Otis Parsons School of Art & Design where he became one of the youngest instructors at the design school.
